The Lady Raiders are set for a 10-day overseas trip to Greece.

Coach Christa Gerlich And the entire Lady Raider team will hit the road before the two flights to Dallas on Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday, the Lady Raiders will fly from DFW Airport to Atlanta’s Hartfield-Jackson. After a short layover in Atlanta, Tech will take to the skies on a 13-hour direct flight to Athens around 4:30pm (CT) on Sunday.

The Lady Raiders tip off at 11:30 a.m. or 3:30 a.m. (CT) on Monday, starting with five days in Athens.

A day’s activities include a bike tour through Athens and a group dinner.

After some rest, the Lady Raiders will have an opportunity to visit the Acropolis and the surrounding museum before the first three games on Tuesday.

Wednesday marks the third day in Athens for Texas Tech and members of the program with a chance to explore Europe’s second-oldest city before the second of three exhibition games.

Tech’s third full day in Athens brings one of the highlights of the trip, a full-day boat trip to the picturesque Soronic Gulf and islands. It is also known as the characteristics of the Gulf of Aegina, the Saronic Gulf and the surrounding islands
Amazing beaches and shops.

The city of Chania (Crete) awaits the Lady Rider on Friday as Tech takes the hourly flight to Chania. After settling in Chania, the travel party will begin a walking tour of the city, which will include the opportunity to shop and have dinner.

It’s game day again on Saturday (August 13) as the Lady Raiders play their third and final exhibition game on Saturday night. Before the game at 7 pm (local) / 11 am (CT), the members of the travel party will participate in the cooking class and will have the opportunity to walk around Chania again and shop.

On Monday (August 15), members of the travel party will check out of their hotel in Chania and board a flight to Athens after lunch, where their final night awaits them in the birthplace of democracy.

The foreign tour wraps up Tuesday (Aug. 16), as the traveling party departs Athens at around 2 p.m. (6 a.m. CT) and begins the more than 12-hour flight to the states.

All games tip off at 7 pm local/11 am (CT) and follow FIBA ​​rules.
