The Texas Tech Red Raiders lost linebacker Bryce Ramirez to a foot injury that appeared in the first half.

RALEIGH, NC – Texas Tech linebacker Bryce Ramirez suffered a serious leg injury in the first quarter Saturday night against No. 16 NC State.

Ramirez was hurt when his teammates pushed Volpac back Jordan Houston, the pile rolling onto Ramirez’s left leg, which was planted in the grass. His leg was hanging below the knee and twisted abnormally as he lay on the grass, the team members wrapped his lower left leg with a towel as they began to treat him.

The game was stopped for about 10 minutes before he went to the cart. Ramirez was active, and several NC State players came over to offer fist bumps or well wishes before he left with 4:02 left on the clock.

Team spokesman Matthew Dowdy said Ramirez was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Without Ramirez, the Red Raiders struggled defensively, but it was the Wolfpack defense that stole the show. Aidan White returned one of two interceptions 84 yards to lead NC State to a 27-14 victory.
