ECA (United Nations Economic Commission for Africa) in partnership with Betacube has announced the launch of the first Tech Africa Women Program inviting applications from women-led startups from Ethiopia, Senegal, Tanzania and Tunisia.
TAW (Women of Tech Africa) is a program that aims to empower female founders to build strong tech startups from scratch, transform project ideas into proven business models, and create connections between diverse Africans. Ecosystems.
The program runs from August to December 2022 and is made up of 3 main phases:

Intensive 3-day training bootcamps A pitching competition is to be held in Tunisia, Senegal, Ethiopia and Tanzania in collaboration with local ecosystem players. The winning team of each boot camp will win a cash prize of $2000.

A 2-month online incubation program for top 2 startups in each country This will enable them to reach market and investment readiness.

A Final ceremony in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at the ECA conference center where 8 start He will be invited to the field to win the final prize of the program ($7000 cash prize for the best start-up) TAW targets Women-led and idea-level technology startups And it provides a unique opportunity for teams to develop new entrepreneurial skills, establish partnerships with their African peers, increase regional business visibility and raise funds. Sustainable development goals (SDGs) by empowering women entrepreneurs who want to understand how they can play a role in the continent’s development and dive deep into building impact-based startups.
During the program, the teams will have access to a group of technology developers and designers who will develop their MVPs for free and participate in webinars hosted by international coaches, working closely with top experts in marketing and finance. .
How to apply?
Participants entering the program must be citizens of Tunisia or Tanzania or Senegal or Ethiopia Idea of Technology startup The person who addresses at least one of the SDGs must be a woman between the ages of 18 and 35 and be able to communicate fluently in French or English.
