Thomas, White on Senior Bowl Watch List – Football – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets


Plates – Georgia Tech linebacker Charlie Thomas (Thomasville, Ga./Thomasville HS) and defensive lineman Keon White (Garner, NC/Garner HS) are on the official watch list for the 2023 Reese Senior Bowl announced Wednesday.

The Reese Senior Bowl is widely considered college football’s most prestigious postseason All-Star Game. In the year In 2022, the Senior Bowl produced 106 National Football League draft picks for the second-straight year, including 45 of the first 100 players. Members of the Official Watch List were selected by the Senior Bowl scouting staff, which worked for six months to identify the top prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Thomas He was an All-Atlantic Coast Conference honorable mention as a junior in 2022 after recording 70 total tackles. He led Georgia Tech with 10 tackles for loss and two tackles for loss, and was second on the team with three sacks and three pass breakups. He had eight tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in a 45-22 win at North Carolina last season. He was one of five NCAA Division 1 FBS players in 2021 with eight tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks per game.

After an injury-riddled 2021, White is poised to return to the form that earned him a top-10 finish in the FBS in 2019 with a second-round loss at Old Dominion. He played 6-4, 286-pounder. Only 16 collegiate games as a defensive end – 11 in 2019 at ODU, when he was named second-team All-Conference USA, and four last season at Georgia Tech, when he missed the first eight games due to an injury during the campaign. Old Dominion has canceled its 2020 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fifty-six Georgia Tech players have previously played in the Senior Bowl. Including defensive back Tariq Anati in 2022, who was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round of the NFL Draft.

The 2023 Rays Senior Bowl will be played on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Ladd-Pebbles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. It airs nationally on the NFL Network.

Three-game mini-season packages are also available, giving fans the chance to select tickets to all three Yellow Jackets home games in 2022 starting at $175.
