Clemson, SC – The top-ranked Clemson men’s soccer team went 2-0-0 on Monday night with a 2-0 win over USC Upstate. Tim Strobeck and Isaiah Reed scored their first goals of the season, while starting goaltender Joseph Andma kept a clean sheet in his debut at historic Riggs Field in front of a crowd of more than 3,000.

Clemson scored when Osman Silla beat a defender at the goal line and found Strobek, who cut inside and out. The Swedish sophomore took a soft touch and fired a shot into the top left corner to give the Tigers the lead in the 15th minute.

The first half ended without many scoring opportunities, but the Tigers put the pressure on in the second frame. Silla dominated possession and continued to create scoring opportunities on several occasions. However, it wasn’t until the 70th minute that Joey Skinner broke free in the box and beat Isaiah Reid to score, putting the game out of reach.

Clemson dominated possession the rest of the game and cruised to its first shutout victory of the season.

Next, The Tigers hit the road for the first time on Friday, September 2nd to host rival South Carolina. The game kicks off at 7pm and will be televised on ESPN+.
