USPS continues to deliver in North Texas winter storm – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

The United States Postal Service says mail and package delivery to homes and businesses in North Texas is continuing as normal during the winter storm.

The USPS said it monitors weather conditions and plans for the potential impact of extreme conditions on deliveries.

“We will continue to monitor this week’s winter storm and take all measures necessary to protect both safety and service,” USPS said in a statement.

USPS said mail and package delivery to residences and businesses continues as normal, and that mail carriers will do their best to deliver their routes if it is safe to do so.

The Postal Service said retail jobs are also open in North Texas, although some hours may change based on staffing at some locations.

The USPS asks its customers to help mail carriers safely deliver mail by keeping a clear path to mailboxes. Customers receiving door deliveries must ensure their walkways, stairs and balconies are clear of snow and ice. Customers receiving curbside delivery must ensure carriers can safely access mailboxes from their vehicles.

USPS Service Alerts provide consumers, small businesses, and commercial mail carriers with information about postal service interruptions due to weather-related and other natural disasters or events. Updated information is available at https://about.usps.com/newsroom/service-alerts/.
