As the 79th Venice Film Festival continues this week, there’s no shortage of celebrity fashion moments thanks to premieres like Noah Baumbach’s “White Noise,” starring Greta Gerwig and Adam Driver, the buzzy “Don’t Be worry darling” directed by Olivia Wilde with Harry Styles and Florence Pugh, and “Blonde” — the Netflix biopic of Marilyn Monroe with Ana de Armas.

On Friday, Timothée Chalamet went viral in a Haider Ackerman backless look at the “Bones And All” red carpet premiere.

The festival, which ends on September 10, is the oldest event of its kind, having been established in 1932 — and thanks to the romantic backdrop of the floating city, it’s one of the most visually appealing. Paparazzi shots of guests arriving in private water taxis conjure up images of Old Hollywood glamour, and so far red carpet moments have followed suit – with many A-listers opting for vintage fashion over the latest runway looks. From actress Julianne Moore’s embellished cape to Mariacarla Boscono’s revealing Jean Paul Gaultier gown, there’s no shortage of high-octane outfits, with more to come.
