Virginia Tech basketball: Hokies announce 2021-22 non-conference schedule

College football season hasn’t even started, and we have college basketball news for Mike Young and the Virginia Tech Hokies. Virginia Tech announced its non-conference schedule for the 2021-22 season this week.

While the games and some of the dates are known, we now have a date for every hockey game in the non-conference schedule.

  • Monday, November 7 against Delaware State
  • Thursday, November 10 vs. Lehigh
  • Sunday, November 13 with William and Mary
  • Thursday, Nov. 17 against Old Dominion in the Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic in Charleston, South Carolina.
  • Friday, Nov. 18 at Furman/Penn State in Charleston
  • Sunday, November 20 in Charleston with TBD
  • Friday, November 25 against Charleston South
  • Monday, Nov. 28 vs. Minnesota in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge
  • Wednesday, December 7 against Dayton
  • Sunday, December 11 against Oklahoma State at the Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
  • Saturday, December 17 vs. Grambling State

One thing that stands out is that the Hokies will be in Blacksburg a lot during the first two months of the season. In December, the Hokies will return to Brooklyn for the first time since winning four straight in March to capture the first ACC Tournament championship in school history.
