Lizzo took center stage Sunday night as MTV celebrated music videos and sound-making artists of the year at the Video Music Awards in New Jersey.

The “Good as Hell” singer wore a strapless black Jean Paul Gaultier Couture gown with shimmering fabric attached to her bust, which plunged into a dramatic train. Her makeup artist, Alexx Mayo, brushed her hair back from her face and she wore triple gold earrings to match a lip ring.

The red carpet was buzzing with A-list stars ahead of the show at the Prudential Centre, which marks the return of the live program for the first time since 2019, before the shutdown of the coronavirus pandemic forced productions to restructure the awards ceremonies.

Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay rocked a fringed little black dress as she posed for photos before heading into the show, while Bachelor Nation co-star Tayshia Adams opted for jewel tones as she slipped into a green number silky with a thigh-grazing slit.
