Web3 Messaging Infrastructure Notify Raises $10 Million in Seed Round Led by Hashed, Race Capital • TechCrunch

Notify, a platform for Web3 communication infrastructure, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $10 million in seed funding, which was co-signed by early backers Hashed and Race Capital. Other investors include Struck Capital, HRT Capital, Wintermute and Superscrypt founded by Temasek, bringing the total funding to $12.5 million.

The 10-month-old startup seeks to solve the broken communication model in Web3, which is fragmented across multiple applications and messaging platforms like Telegram, Discord, and Twitter, and across Layer-1 and Layer-2 blockchain ecosystems. Notifi provides a communication infrastructure and software development kit (SDK) for decentralized applications on blockchain platforms with simple and customized notifications.

Its platform enables Web3 developers to integrate multichannel communication into their applications without building infrastructure. “Notifi is similar to Twilio, but unlike Twilio, Notifi has built a Web3-native solution for blockchain developers that enables on-chain and off-chain messaging,” Paul Kim, Notifi co-founder and CEO, told TechCrunch.

Kim and Nimesh Amin (CTO), who previously worked at Amazon Web Services and Oracle Cloud, founded Notify in January. Kim’s team consists of Web 2.0 infrastructure developers, so they understand the importance of building and running services with reliability, security and performance.

The launch targets the Web3 ecosystem and all Web 2.0 addressable users. “Instead of building something that no one asked for, we’re taking a hands-on approach to solving real customer and user pain points,” Kim continued. “That’s why we support both on-chain and off-chain delivery. Not everything needs to be decentralized. When Web3 is mainstream, the next wave of users will want a simple text or email alert when something important happens.”

Notifi, which launched SDKs in April this year, has more than 25 clients, including Orca, one of Solana’s largest DEXs. Zebec, treasury management for DAOs; SynFutures, Polygon’s largest derivatives protocol; Hyperspace, an NFT marketplace; Realms, Solana’s DAO management platform; And more, said Kim.

Notifi will soon launch Notifi Hub, a web3 inbox that brings cross-chain notifications and messaging into a single hub, currently in beta, to provide users with a centralized place to track and manage all their messages and alerts across blockchains. Wallets and dApps.

Notify now supports Solana, NEAR, and Ethereum, and is expanding to Polygon, Avalanche, Aptos, and Sui. The company’s initial launch partners are SynFutures and ZeroSwap on Polygon; Pocket Worlds on Avalanche; Pontem Networks, Aries Market and Ethos Wallet on Aptos and Sui.

The funding will help expand Notifi support to other layer ecosystems and provide developers with more tools to enable a better user experience. In addition, it plans to hire and scale the team to meet the new needs of its product lines, such as service notifications, service chat, customer relationship management (CRM) and product messaging analytics tools, among others, Kim said. .

The company may face competition from XMTP and Dialect in the Web3 messaging space. The difference is Notify’s product is designed to have highly customizable experiences that apps can implement and manage, Kim said, adding that user experience developers can provide messaging and notification functionality in the native UI with a user experience that feels like a native of their app. platform.

“Paul and Nimesh bring years of infrastructure experience from Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Oracle and Circle to web3,” said Chris McCann, General Partner at Seed Capital. “We at Race Capital couldn’t be more excited to partner with them on this new round of seed funding and support their mission to empower all Web3 developers to better communicate and connect with their users.”

“Notifi has a bold vision to make communication as easy to configure and maintain as a web application. They built a smart and intuitive interface that simplifies the complexities of building chain messaging, and have won many early awards from layer 1 blockchains and web3 developers,” said Hashed Baek Kim, partner.
