Wichita to welcome Novacost headquarters, 100 new high-tech jobs

WICHITA, Kan. (WBW) – A cybersecurity company is moving to the Sunflower State with plans to create 100 new high-tech jobs and make Wichita a cybersecurity training center.

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly announced Friday, July 29 that cybersecurity company Novacoast will relocate its corporate headquarters from Santa Barbara, California to Wichita. She said the company plans to bring 100 new high-tech jobs and help make Wichita a cybersecurity training center.

“I am thrilled that Novacost is relocating its headquarters to Wichita and creating 100 high-tech jobs for Kansas,” said Gov. Kelly. More and more companies are choosing to come to our region as they see that our talented workforce, strong infrastructure and supportive business climate will help them grow and succeed.

In February, Kelly Novacost opened a 9,700-square-foot security operations center in downtown Wichita, hiring about 40 employees in sales, software development and cybersecurity engineering.

“We are impressed with Wichita,” said Paul Anderson, CEO of Novacost Inc. A year ago, we expanded our presence into the area and realized the incredible potential in the city and its people. . This is where we want to grow our company – officially naming Wichita as our global headquarters.

Kelly said the company has worked with McConnell Air Force Base, Wichita State University, Friends University, Butler Community College and Envision Inc. – He noted that he has built key recruiting relationships with the Air National Guard at the Blind and Visually Impaired Workforce Innovation Center.

Novacoast’s decision to relocate its headquarters to Kansas is further proof that Kansas is the nation’s best place to do business, said Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland. “The new career and training opportunities in advanced cybersecurity offered by Novacost will strengthen our state’s position as an innovation leader.”

Many of Novacost’s clients are highly regulated global organizations — including banks, health care and energy companies, the governor said. Its subsidiary, Novacost Federal, provides services to NASA, US Patents and Trademarks, the IRS and the Federal Reserve System, among others, she said.

Kelly said Novacost represents 12 of the top 20 global financial institutions.
