WKU to provide coding bootcamps to meet the needs of the tech industry

WKU has partnered with Promino Tech to offer bootcamps to promote continuous and professional development in Kentucky’s tech workforce. These bootcamp programs not only prepare students to fill entry-level roles in a fast-growing industry, but also provide them with the skills to continue their growth.

“We are pleased to partner with Promino Tech to provide up-to-date, focused training for these in-demand skills. There are many bootcamps available, which provide the content and support for students to succeed in the real world without prior technology training,” said April McCulley, CPD Lifelong Learning Coordinator.

Bootcamps provide an accelerated path to work in technology. Students focus on learning the practical skills hiring managers need when filling entry-level roles. Bootcamps offered at WKU are career-focused and help train mature students with the skills and technologies they need to become competitive applicants in the IT industry.

“We are excited to partner with WKU Continuing and Professional Development to bring affordable coding and technology bootcamp programs to Kentucky residents,” said Promino Tech President Nick Sweeney. “Everyone should have the opportunity to explore careers in technology if that’s what they want, and these programs can help make that happen.”

WKU offers bootcamp programs in front-end software development, back-end software development, big data engineering and digital marketing. The virtual classroom encourages real interactions between students, teachers, mentors and industry professionals to facilitate their learning and career paths.

Increasing access to technology education is critical at a time when the demand for technology talent is growing. These bootcamps train students to break into the tech industry and stand out in today’s job market.

Registration for upcoming cohorts is currently live. Read more about this engaging course format and course content:
