YouTube’s “Fashion Month” will feature new looks and coverage from New York, Milan and Paris


September is a big month in the fashion world. New York Fashion Week start September 9 and runs until the 13th. MilanThe week-long style party will begin on September 20. Just six days after that, Paris Fashion Week will have his turn on the track. So there’s no better month for YouTube to bring a flurry of activity to its triennial / fashion hub.

Blocked YouTube package [sic] fashion month” will include a YouTube Shorts campaign, a pop-up showroom in New York City, and dozens of new videos from top fashionistas across the platform. These videos, along with many others, will be made available on the landing page at youtube.com/fashion.

To kick off this month-long celebration of high fashion, YouTube shorts will invite users to #RemakeTheRunway. The campaign will promote the practice of “upcycling,” in which designers repurpose old threads from thrift stores and closets to create haute couture looks. Over 40 creators, incl LauraDIY, Molly Burke, Girls Sorry, doubleAND Just Jaserahwill post their short clips as part of #RemakeTheRunway.

So what are the #RemakeTheRunway contestants competing for? The answer to that question can be found at a pop-up location in New York’s chic SoHo neighborhood. YouTube is repurposing an empty storefront to showcase new clothing Miaira Jennings, TheStylingTwins, Coolirpa, Gunnar Deathrage, Haley’s Corner, Jenna PhippsAND Littletohwhich will appear alongside entries from the YouTube Shorts campaign.

The #RemakeTheRunway clips will also be visible to New York Fashion Week attendees. Thanks to a partnership with LinkNYCShort videos will be broadcast on screens that populate the city’s street corners.

Wrapping up all this fashion excitement will be live streaming coverage from New York, Milan and Paris, which will be available on the /fashion hub. In an interesting twist, that landing page is highlighting the work of a top TikToker as well. One of the videos currently available on /fashion is a recent Hugo Boss campaign featuring new house partner, Khaby Lame.

Programming fashion week on YouTube has become an annual tradition. Past initiatives have included a 2018 event in which several YouTube stars walked the runway at New York Fashion Week makeup-free, and a party that same year that brought together top designers in Paris.
