Tables and table accessories
Be sure to check out our reasons to buy a standing desk and our guides on the best wireless chargers and the best office chairs before you buy.
This is our favorite standing desk and this is one of the lowest prices we’ve ever seen. The bamboo top is eco-friendly and looks great, and you get four height presets for the engine. It goes up and down smoothly with little vibration. It offers a full range of accessories so you can customize the table when you buy it.
It takes a bit of work to assemble, but this desk has everything you need for a motorized standing desk at a very affordable price. It has one motor with three height presets to accommodate the desktop from 28 to 48 inches and the cover is made of high quality chipboard. This deal is only available to Amazon Prime members.
This is a VESA-compatible mount that holds up to 20 pounds and comes with a five-year warranty. We like the built-in cable management, and the build quality is excellent. It’s made by the same company that makes our favorite standing desks.
Click the coupon button to get the extra 10 percent off. If you want to work from your couch or bed, this desk will do the job. Since the stand is only on one side, it will not be difficult to place it next to a sofa or bed, and the height is adjustable. It’s very stable to work with, and you roll it out of the way when you’re done.
This is a pretty comfortable chair for the price. It’s fully mesh, so the mesh allows for better airflow, so it’s great if you want to run hot in the room. You also get a headrest and the seat is adjustable as well. With two types of wheels – caster or roller blades – so you can make it work on different types of floors.
We love this height-adjustable footstool for people who spend hours at their desks. The plush cover is machine washable and comes in velvet or mesh.
Wired’s Ariel Pardes was a fan of this desk treadmill, which she used to cut miles a day while doing her regular work. Gear Team member Medea Giordano also likes under-the-table treadmills, which can help wake up your body (and sharpen your mind) while you work out.
Table mats are a great way to make things look nice in your space and these like a giant mouse pad. This microfiber carpet is not very beautiful, but with this offer, it does not need to be.
This polyurethane leather rug is very beautiful, especially in pink color. If you want to change things, you can flip to see the other color. It is easy to clean and smooth to glide on the mouse.
WIRED Senior Reviews Editor Julian Choctaw tested this with both Android and iPhones, and this wireless charging base lamp meets the needs. It has a USB-A port for plugged-in charging on the back, and there are color temperature settings to set the mood in the room (warm or cool tones). After about a year of testing, it has held up well.
Relying on power cords on the floor can be frustrating. This strip extender comes with six large outlets and a USB-C and USB-A port, making it ideal for an office that needs to do many things at once.
Screens, interfaces and headphones
Check out our guides to the best keyboards, best headphones, and best monitors.
Attach this 13-inch portable monitor to the back of your laptop via magnets and slide it around when you need more screen space. It doesn’t take up any extra desk space and is great for airplane tray tables (maybe not so much for your neighbor), and it only needs to be connected to your laptop via a USB-C cable. It is a smart system that works reliably.
This is an incredibly compact portable monitor for its 15-inch size, and we really like the built-in kickstand for overall stability. There are a variety of connectivity options for Mac, PC, smartphone and gaming systems, as well as built-in stereo speakers (although you don’t want to rely on them).
Want to plug more gear into your PC? This is especially great if you’re using an older laptop or PC without a USB-C port. Plug it in with USB-A and you now get six more USB-A ports, two HDMIs, Gigabit Ethernet, and a headphone jack. If you upgrade to a machine with USB-C, you can use the adapter included with the cable.
This is a great entry-level wired headphone that we love. It works great for zoom meetings, and you can use it to hang out with your friends after hours online. It also comes in a wireless version.
This four-port hub has two USB-A ports, a 100-watt USB-C port that can power a MacBook Pro, and 4K HDMI output. This adapter does not have a ton of large ports, but this thing features an external hard drive function M.2 port in this dock, which is very awesome! Note: This hub does not support NVME M.2 cards and SSD is not included.
