Garbutt, Holyfield and Holston to participate on Saturday

The Virginia Tech football team will have three players who want to play in the NFL in the Tropical Bowl on Saturday.
The college all-star game will be held at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida at 4:00 p.m. The game will be televised for a $20 pay-per-view.
The featured hockey player is a defensive lineman. TyJuan Garbutt.linebacker Dax Holyfield and running back Jalen Holston.
Garbutt finished his six-year career in Blacksburg strong, averaging 1.33 TFLs per game last fall to rank third in the ACC. He totaled 121 tackles, 29 TFLs, 12 sacks and four forced fumbles in his career.
Holyfield, who ranks third in school history for tackles (355), was also a six-year starter for Tech and earned the Charlotte Knockdown Club’s National Defensive Player of the Year award. He collected 12 sacks, four interceptions and three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. In the classroom, he was also awarded the Military Bowl 3M STEM Scholar-Athlete.

Holston, a six-year starter, averaged 321 yards per carry and 3.6 yards per carry in one season in 2022. He had a year-high five touchdowns while hauling in 10 catches for 66 yards. He amassed 1,235 rushing yards, 13 touchdowns, 176 receiving yards and one touchdown in his career.
