FASTAg stickers have ended long queues at toll booths. Now, the tolls are automatically deducted through an electronic toll collection chip, resulting in less traffic congestion. If you want to pay for e-tolls, you need to recharge your FASTag prepaid wallet regularly. There are five ways to do this:

Top up through mobile banking

There are about 23 banks where you can apply and renew FASTag. Your bank’s website will display a FASTag icon that you can use to apply and add your account. Most of the top banks offer mobile banking apps that allow you to top up your FASTAg. Using the IDFC FIRST Bank mobile app, you can access the FASTag option under ‘Recharge and Pay Bills’ by visiting the ‘Payments’ section. You can also top up your FASTAg wallet after completing the one-time registration of your vehicle details.

Recharge via WhatsApp

If you have IDFC FIRSTForward FASTAg, you can complete your FASTAg recharge via WhatsApp. To give you a seamless recharge experience, IDFC FIRST Bank uses messaging apps for user-friendliness. The IDFC FIRST Forward FASTAg app can be used to pay for parking, fuel, green taxes and tolls. Using the ‘Pay on WhatsApp’ option enables smart payment of various standard bills.

Top up through UPI

All popular UPI wallets and platforms now support FASTag online recharge. From one platform to another, the actual charging process may be different. Decide on the issuing bank for your FASTAg login. The name of the bank can be found on the left side of the FASTAg sticker. After selecting the issuing bank, enter the amount you want to top up, your vehicle number or the Wallet ID number associated with your FASTag account. You can then complete the payment process.

Top up through bank automatic debit

If you are a person who travels a lot, this option will be perfect for you. You can direct your bank to deduct the specified amount from your account and deposit your FASTag wallet every month. Additionally, you can set a minimum amount to be added to your wallet. You should email your bank regarding your account details.

Top up through net banking

You must have online banking login information to top up your FASTAg through net banking. Log in to your account, enter your wallet ID and the amount you want to recharge and click on the ‘Recharge’ section. Select your bank account and provide any necessary information to make the payment. You can always top up your FASTag wallet via net banking by selecting your FASTag wallet after it has been added as an invoice.

However, keep in mind that a convenience fee may be associated with using online channels to top up your FASTag wallet. You will also receive an SMS on your registered phone and email ID after purchasing FASTAg online and logging into the account. This way you can determine the amount charged from your FASTag account each time you go through a payment.
