Malvern-based medical technology company NeuroStar has expanded to Charlotte and opened a second office and training facility, Elise Franco told the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The company leased 10,000 square feet on the seventh floor at 200 South College in downtown Charlotte.

We chose Charlotte for two reasons. First of all, it’s because of its proximity to the airport,” said Keith Sullivan, CEO of Neurostar. “We also wanted to be in an area surrounded by hotels and restaurants, and 200 College Street is just that.”

NeuroStar has developed a non-invasive device specifically designed to send magnetic pulses through the skull and relieve symptoms of depression. In the year Approved by the FDA in 2008, this device has a 62 percent effectiveness rate.

The Charlotte location will primarily serve as a training center for physicians and staff to learn how to effectively use technology and better educate patients on medical benefits.
