– Amazon has promoted two executives to senior vice president: James Hamilton, a prominent engineer at the company; and Drew Herdener, who heads international relations.
Both were previously vice presidents of Amazon. The promotions reflect the breadth and impact of their work, the company said. Both joined Amazon’s senior management team a year ago. The promotions were announced on Amazon last Thursday.
Hamilton focused on Amazon Web Services for several years, working for Amazon’s cloud chief Andy Jassy at the time. In the past year, he has transitioned into a broader technical role, including but not limited to AWS, reporting to Jacy as Amazon’s CEO.
Hardener has been with the company for more than 19 years. Jay Carney, the company’s global head of policy and communications, is reporting to Jacey on an interim basis after announcing plans to leave for Airbnb last week.
– Gary Rosenfeld has been named vice president of business development at Big Fish Games. Rosenfeld previously worked on business development and strategy with companies such as Pixel United, Discovery Communications and Universal Music Group as head of his own consulting practice, BD Lab. Before starting his own business, he served as an executive at 20th Century Fox and other companies.
Seattle-based Big Fish sold $1 billion to Aristocrat in 2018 and brought in a new president in May, Larry Plotnick, formerly head of Amazon Prime gaming.
– Mike Waters is the Chief Operating Officer of Teladoc Health, now operating out of Providence.He was most recently executive vice president and CEO of Ambulatory Care Network.
Watts has worked for more than nine years at Renton, Wash.-based Providence, which owns 52 hospitals and hundreds of clinics. Prior to Providence, Waters was managing director at Swedish Medical Group.
Purchase, NY-based Teladoc serves 51.5 million members in more than 175 countries with “virtual care for the whole person.” Waters’ move follows the departure of Aaron Martin, chief digital officer at March of Providence. Martin became vice president of health at Amazon, which announced last week that it would buy Teladoc rival One Medical.
– Dirk Nagorsen has been named chief medical officer at cell therapy startup Affini-T Therapeutics. Nargorsen previously spent ten years at Amgen, where he was most recently vice president of advance development and head of therapeutics for advance development in hematology and oncology.
At Amgen, Nagorsen oversees T-cell-based agents and programs for Lumacras (sotorasib), the first approved treatment targeting KRAS, as well as the Affini-T target. At the beginning of this month, the company was added to the board of directors Jill DeSimoneHe most recently served as president of US Oncology at Merck.
– Ivan Saul has been hired as SendinBulu’s Chief Technology Officer. He left Octopia, an e-marketplace where he was vice president of engineering, and grew the team from eight to 300 engineers. Before that, he was CTO for France for the digital consulting company Publicis Sapient.
Paris-based Sendinblue, which sells marketing and sales tools to businesses, has its US headquarters in Seattle. The company is looking to fill 60 roles, one-third of which will be under Saul’s control.
– The start of Seattle Mason He was appointed Phil Moon As Chief Financial Officer and Bernard Richardson As vice president of operations. Mason provides customers with custom-built hardware and software for purpose-built Android devices.
Moon was previously an executive at greenhouse essentials company Grove Collaborative and helped lead its recent public listing through a SPAC merger. Bernard was previously Director of Product Operations at the clean solar energy company Sunrun and Meta. He has also worked for Apple, Amazon, Microsoft and Hewlett Packard.
