University partners with American Research Institutes and CompTIA to help create job opportunities and meet employers’ technology workforce needs
TEMPE, Ariz, July 27, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Arizona State UniversityNationally recognized as America’s most innovative school, it has partnered with the American Institute for Research (AIR) and CompTIA to launch a new internship program for aspiring information technology (IT) professionals.
Arizona State University It’s the latest organization to join CompTIA’s Apprenticeships for Tech, helping employers fill current and long-term IT workforce needs through “find and learn” internship programs, while also creating career opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds.
The university is a multi-employer sponsor serving employers and apprentices with Arizona Department of Economic Security standards-based enrollment training. ASU is actively hiring recruiters and interns for Tech Project Coordinator positions.
“IT projects are often challenging and require strong support to achieve project milestones and deliver deliverables,” he said. Training for Tech Project Coordinator trainees follows the National Job Role Standards developed by CompTA and approved by the US Department of Labor (USDOL). Interns gain on-the-job experience and classroom instruction in project management, general IT terms and concepts, business skills, recruiting skills, and other areas. The standards include guidance on the qualifications and employment of apprentices, duration of training and recommended salary scales.
USDOL selected AIR and CompTIA, an IT industry nonprofit that conducts behavioral and social science research and provides technical assistance in education, health, and the workforce domestically and internationally. and Human Resources, to serve as a national industry intermediary to promote careers in tech jobs.
