ASBTDC to host financial seminars by NEA


The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center at Arkansas State University will host “How to Get SBA Financing for Your Small Business” Sept. 20 at the Delta Economic Development Center on the ASU campus.

Herb Lawrence, Arkansas District Office, Small Business Administration will discuss financing options and how small businesses can obtain capital for their operations. Businesses in cities throughout Northeast Arkansas are scheduled to meet with an ASBTDC business advisor in September.

ASBTDC provides one-on-one confidential guidance for business owners and entrepreneurs. The main areas of assistance include business planning, financial analysis, market research, loan packaging, growth and expansion, marketing and profitability.

The sessions were made possible through joint sponsorship from FNBC, First Community Bank, NEA Intermodal Authority, East Arkansas Planning and Development District, First Security Bank and Simmons Bank.

There is no charge for the training event or counseling session, but registration is required. Those interested can call (870) 972-3517 to register.

September session dates, advisors and locations are as follows:

Laura Miller, center director, will host an advisory service on September 13 at the Spring River Innovation Hub in Cherokee Village. Candence Brooks, a business consultant, hosts counseling services at the Trumann Municipal Complex in Trumann.

Miller will host an advisory session on Sept. 15 at the Batesville Chamber of Commerce in Batesville. Brooks will host an advisory service Sept. 15 in Newport at the Newport Chamber of Commerce.

Robert Bahn, business consultant, will host your marketing session on September 15th at the Mississippi County Chamber of Commerce in Blytheville.

Miller will host an advisory Sept. 22 at the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce in Pocahontas. Bahn will host your Small Business Session on Sept. 22 in Osceola at the Osceola/South Mississippi County Chamber of Commerce.
