In the new era of remote and hybrid work, companies must manage people who move or work remotely to join. For obvious reasons, that has created a huge headache for HR directors.
In 2014, FlatClub had an apartment rental platform. But a chance encounter encouraged them to become Benivo, a B2B SaaS HR platform solution for mobile or mobile workforces in 2017. He then used the money and revenue from the consumer business to grow the new company.
The result was a $12m growth funding round led by Updata Partners’ Growth Equity fund, bringing the total amount invested in the company to $30m. Not bad for a start with apartments.
Playing in a similar position to Benivo, Topia, formerly MoveGuides, burned through around $140m. Benivo now secures clients including Google, Mondelez, General Electric, Philips 66, Unity, Wayfire, CGI, Bloomberg and 50 others.
The market for so-called ‘global mobility’ is huge, but many processes are still manual and often require the use of multiple platforms by employees or their companies.
Benivo’s Voice uses AI to automate and predictive analytics to help the poor man in HR move employees around or track where they’re going.
Founder Nitzan Yudan told me his journey began in Silicon Roundabout’s original startup co-working space, TechHub, when a chance meeting with Google’s HR team prompted him to head in this new direction.
“Even though they gave Google the ugliest page in the history of the Internet (it was our non-MVP product at the time), they cared about their employees and wanted to solve a problem. So they went with us. With Google as our first customer, deciding to get out of the consumer business and stop competing with Airbnb was a natural step for the company.” ” he said in an email.
Benivo says it competes with relocation management systems like Ekus, Topia, KPMG and ‘Relocation Management Companies’ like SIRVA, WIchert, Cartus, BGRS, AIRES, Altair on different levels) but it solves both issues in one platform.
The company will use the new funding to grow its teams in the US, UK, Armenia and India.
