The Co-op and Uber Eats have teamed up as part of the convenience retailer’s plan to expand its on-demand online home delivery service.

Through the partnership, consumers will be able to order from around 1,000 food stores through the Uber Eats app by the end of the year.

In a phased rollout that starts this week, customers can choose from more than 6,000 products in local Co-op stores using the Uber Eats app.

Along with fresh-picked products in local stores, the service is available for a full grocery store as well as on-demand refills and forgotten items, meal ideas and at-home dinners.

Amazon Just Walk Out kicks off the tech-powered push for checkout-free stores

Amazon has put the brakes on expanding UK check-out-free convenience stores, as sales fell short of expectations and costs were several times higher than normal locations.

According to a report by The Sunday Times, the US giant has stopped looking for additional locations, away from talks on Amazon’s fresh stores at dozens of sites.

Sites that Amazon has already leased will still have a few openings this year.
