IEMBE is a black-owned luxury brand that stands for “in my bag” and proposes “you define luxury, a motto we live by,” Travis told Hearst CT Media Group in January. The brand, which sells bags and clothing online, was launched on January 3, 2020.

In April, IEMBE’s Tiffany Blue bag was featured in the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art’s installation, Creative Connecticut. Creative Connecticut consists of rotating installations celebrating Connecticut artists and began by exhibiting the work of Travis, who was installed at the entrance to the Hartford museum until the end of July.

“It all started in Connecticut, and knowing that I was in the biggest museum here still feels surreal,” he said. “I feel like I’m living a dream every day.”

Celebrities and pop culture personalities like Jordyn Woods, Wonderful, Gentle millBIA and Jim Jones have become familiar with the IEMBE brand and have been seen wearing the “IEMBE Bible Jacket” or bag.

Laverne said she loved helping her son’s vision come to life and loved the process.

“I’m his official brand model and I wouldn’t want to do that for anyone else,” she said. “I’m very proud of him and what this brand stands for.”

With his dream of a Times Square billboard coming true, Travis said he plans to fly to Paris in November to shoot his first IEMBE collection, which will feature new handbags, purses, apparel and more. a lot.
