A few days after OpenAI discontinued ChatGPT at the end of November 2022, the chatbot is a free essay writing, experimental tool that has been hilariously condemned for cheating.
Schools quickly blocked OpenAI’s website, while several prominent universities issued statements warning students against using the chatbot to cheat.

Lately there has been an increasing clamor in the news about deep ocean mining. Some places on the ocean floor could be a source of some of the metals we need to build batteries and other technologies critical to combating climate change, proponents say.
But the fact that commercial efforts aren’t moving forward is a growing source of controversy: there’s a lot of uncertainty about how they’ll affect ecosystems, and a lot of politics at play.
