Let’s begin with our top story. After a long wait, the trailer of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham-starrer Pathaan, is finally here. From the looks of it, the Siddharth Anand directorial will be a treat for every SRK fan who has been waiting for him to charm them on the silver screen, since 2018.The action sequences of the film are just like any action sequence you will see in today’s action movies, full of VFX. The trailer was also shared in Tamil and Telugu by actors Vijay and Ram Charan, respectively. Pathaan also stars actors Ashutosh Rana and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled to release in the theaters on January 25.
“Moving on. Actor Hrithik Roshan, who celebrated his birthday on Tuesday, 10th January, has confirmed that the fourth instalment to his popular Krrish franchise is indeed in the works and should get rolling once they overcome a ‘one little technicality’.
The actor in an interview said that the film is expected to start shooting by the end of the year. The actor, who was last seen on the silver screen in Vikram Vedha, is also said to be part of War 2, the second instalment of the 2019 film War, which co-starred Tiger Shroff. But, Hrithik remained tight-lipped about the film as he said that producer Aditya Chopra is the one to make all official announcements.”
Comedy icon Johnny Lever said that there is no longer a requirement for his brand of humour in Bollywood films anymore. He theorised in a recent interview that certain insecure actors demanded that they be given comic scenes as well, to avoid a scenario where he, Johnny, would walk away with all the adulation. And as a result, the presence of comic relief characters became negligible. Johnny cited the example of his breakout film, the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Baazigar. He said that the film ‘didn’t have a writer’, which meant that he could come up with all the comedy scenes himself. He was recently seen in the Ranveer Singh-starrer Cirkus, directed by Rohit Shetty.
“Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, who saw a rare failure with the Ranveer Singh film Cirkus, took to his social media on Tuesday, 10th January and addressed how his team has been coping with various setbacks in the last few weeks.
Cirkus recorded dismal numbers at the box office – Rs 32.10 crore – but Shetty and his team marched on as they shot for his debut web series, Indian Police Force. Days later, the Singham director suffered an accident on the set of the show. Shetty is also set to begin work on the third Singham film after Indian Police Force. It will feature Ajay Devgn reprising his role as Bajirao Singham and will be the fifth movie in the filmmaker’s cop universe.”
Meanwhile, actor Kriti Sanon has wrapped up the shooting of her film Shehzada. Kriti on Tuesday, 10th January took to Instagram to share photos with co-stars Kartik Aaryan and Manisha Koirala and with director Rohit Dhawan. In the post, the actor mentioned that she was ‘sad’ that the journey had come to an end. Earlier in the day, Kartik Aaryan also shared a photo where he mentioned that he hurt his knees after a rigorous shoot of a song in Shehzada. The teaser for the film had released a while ago, with Kartik seen in action sequences. Shehzada is set to release on February 10, 2023.
“Actor Riteish Deshmukh’s directorial debut “”Ved”” continues to have a great run in the third week with the film raking in Rs 5.7 crore on the second Sunday, January 8, which is being dubbed as the highest-ever single-day collection for a Marathi film.
As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, as of Tuesday, the film grossed Rs 35.77 crore at the box office.
Deshmukh took to his Instagram and wrote – “To hit the highest single-day collection ever for a Marathi film on the 10th day feels like a dream. We thank the audience from the bottom of our hearts for showering so much love on Ved.”” With generally positive reviews, Ved is likely to continue its good run through this week. “
Aasman Bhardwaj’s debut directorial “Kuttey” has had to undergo several modifications after being reviewed by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). According to the reported list, 10 changes have had to be made by the makers, with most of them adding or modifying disclaimers. There were several changes in the audio as well, including the modification of numerous cuss words. Certain words have been muted altogether and have also been removed from the subtitles. Kuttey has a star-studded cast that features Arjun Kapoor, Tabu, Konkona Sen Sharma, Radhika Madan, Naseeruddin Shah, Kumud Mishra and Shardul Bhardwaj. The film is set to release in cinemas on January 13.
“Lastly, Bollywood actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood on Monday, 9th January, took to social media to share a heartwarming compliment that he received from a few Indian Army personnel.
Sonu shared pictures of Indian Army jawans posing with a handwritten message “Real Hero Sonu Sood” on the snow in the Himalayas. Sharing the pictures on Instagram, Sonu wrote – “Somewhere in the Himalayas. These pictures made my day.”” During the Covid-19 pandemic and the resultant lockdowns, Sonu Sood became a “”hero of the masses””, helping lakhs of migrant Indians travel back to the safety of their rural homes from their adopted homes in big cities.”
