Fashion ideas for road trips as you chase the clouds this month

It’s the season of impromptu travel plans, long drives and quick weekend getaways – and we want to make sure you look absolutely OMG! while you’re at it.

For India’s city folk, monsoons are always an excuse to take time off. And after huddling indoors hiding from the heatwaves we’ve experienced this year, nothing sounds more inviting than going on a long road trip, rolling down the window and feeling the wind blow your hair, enjoy walks in the gentle fall or get inside. with a good book and a hot cup of cocoa while watching the dreamy rain clouds float by.

What are your plans for the monsoon weekend? Well, whatever they are, the first thing you should think about is what to wear, right? Let us help you out with a casual monsoon style sheet so you can look stunning in all those Insta posts you’ll be making!

Stay fashionably casual

For starters, let’s talk about house parties and indoor shelters. While this is the season to dress up, that doesn’t mean you can’t make a statement. For both ladies and gentlemen, choose comfortable silhouettes and have fun with colors and prints. Women can choose cute co-ord sets in bold colors and prints, have fun with crop tops and sweetheart tops, or pair bralettes with loose shirts or that classic white shirt and hot denim shorts look, which are always a hit. Crop tops come in a variety of styles and make a perfect OOTD staple. Check out brands like Cougar AND Adidas for the last points.

If you’re in the mood for prints, don’t play it safe (fashion is all about bold and shocking these days). Tie-dye is definitely hot—it’s been hot for four years now, but the trend isn’t going away anytime soon. So feel free to go all out with tie dye – and you can have all the fun you want with it. The flowers are also very cute. You can choose from understated tonal florals if you’re all about the trend, or go maximalist with big, bright motifs in eye-catching colors. dice AND H&M are definitely great places to shop for casual wear and prints. And don’t be afraid to make a print in the press. The key is to make sure your outfits have structure and shape – that’s the difference between an Insta-trending look and looking like you’re wearing wallpaper.

Gentlemen, we recommend shorts worn well with everything. For house parties, ditch the trousers and jeans – another reason not to skip leg day, guys – and pair smart turtlenecks or fitted shirts with shorts. Printing is on the memo for you too. Start safe if you’re a beginner, but don’t be afraid to experiment. Men can buy road trip essentials dice AND H&M too, along with occasional coolness from brands like Paul Smith, CelioAND Tommy Hilfiger. Also, edgy brands like Calvin Klein, Armani Exchange, AND oil should be on the radar for both men and women.

Travel in style

There are few things more fun than a long drive to nowhere. Grab your friends, pack a few things, put on your playlist, and get out of town. But what should you wear? Street wear and casual sports can be an interesting clothing theme. Now, boys and girls, repeat after me: Athleisure is not gym wear. Don’t bring out your boring blacks. Shop cool joggers in neon and cool prints. This works for both women and men. Ladies, ditch the baggy clothes and buy some form-fitting streetwear to amp up that oomph. Stylish joggers, cute tops, crop tops, off-the-shoulder and one-shoulder numbers, elegant bralettes and knotted tops should be added to the cart. Play with colors, play with prints and mix and match as you wish. The only rule of streetwear is that there are none.

Long drives are also a great option to add a layer to your look. A cozy zip-up hoodie or a lightweight puffer jacket (if you can get your hands on one in metallic, go for it and thank us later) will definitely get you compliments. Guys, while you’ll undoubtedly fall back on your trusty t-shirts and hoodies—and we don’t judge you for it—there’s no reason not to experiment with prints. Please ditch those boring solid color crewneck basics (maybe keep the white and black, but throw away the rest) and shop for cool graphic prints, placement typography, logomani and fun slogan prints (as much as possible). the funnier the better).

Hoodies are always a great option, but maybe explore beyond the usual varsity variety and check out the wide range of options available these days. Zip-up jackets and windbreakers in pop and neon colors can also be a great alternative. And, sneakers for everyone – the thicker the better. Sports brands like Cougar, Adidas, Fila, AND nike, and luxury maisonettes like Louis Vuitton AND Balenciaga are the big daddy of streetwear right now, thanks to some of the coolest collaborations. For sneakers, see also Gucci AND The Onitsuka Tiger.

Rely on tourist clothing

If you’re planning a weekend getaway, definitely shop for swimwear. While running to Goa or the Maldives isn’t a good idea right now if you want to enjoy the beach, it’s a lot of fun to lounge by a pool, grab a few cocktails and enjoy a book. Hence, swimwear. And no, an old t-shirt and a pair of baggy shorts are not swimwear, folks. Have fun shopping for bikinis and monokinis in a variety of colors and patterns. Shivan & Narresh, The life of the labelAND porch make some of the most stunning swimwear in the country right now. While black is a bikini favorite – as are polka dots – neon and pop are a hot trend, while there’s a wide range of prints available today. Guys, swim shorts are always a good option, but if you’re not too comfortable in them, buy shorts. Also, don’t forget fun flips. Or, chunky clogs, which are all the rage these days.

Checking into a plush resort is always a nice treat. The cool thing about monsoons is that you don’t need to be outside to enjoy the weather. Laze at the pool bar, relax at a cafe, enjoy a long lazy morning with your partner, friends and family while watching the romantic rains outside. But you don’t have to look like a sloppy tourist just because you’re not going out. That’s what tourist clothing is for.

Women, the options are endless for you. Flowy and elegant dresses are a great idea. Summery and so charming, you can choose them in your favorite colors and prints. Me time, family time or date night, dresses are always a great outfit choice. If you’re shopping internationally, it doesn’t get any better than Gucci, Stella McCartneyAND Dior. Closer to home, boast designers like Gauri & Nainika, Wendell Rodricks, AND Masaba for wonderful tourist clothing.

Another option is to pair anything with palazzos. From long kurtas and kaftans, to cool tanks, lightweight tops, loose shirts or loose blouses – whatever you’re in the mood for. This is also a great time to flaunt your frills (go overboard, no one minds) and heels. Keep your makeup light and dewy (don’t forget the moisture, honey!) with color. These tourist outfits also work for cool nights and dinners on the town.

Gentlemen, we have only one word for you – freedom. Inspiring, comfortable and extremely moisture-wicking, shop loose shirts, trousers, sharp shorts and lightweight linen jackets. They’re available in a range of pastel colours, which are perfect for the weather and help you make a stylish entrance without melting into a pool of sweat underneath. Channels, Brooks Brothers, Ralph Laurenand designer labels beyond AND Yohji Yamamoto it should be your shopping list.

For shoes, skip the brogues and try espadrilles or leather sandals. Mules are also a great idea. Some light accessories are also recommended. Try necklaces and chains, or maybe a stylish bracelet? Hair is preferably neat and under control, so use a quick pomade to control monsoon frizz and if you have a beard, wax it so it doesn’t feel musty. Keep your collar buttons unbuttoned, order your favorite drink and relax.

So there you go, everything you need to shop and pack for all the fun you’ll have this season. Just experiment, break all the rules and have a great time!
