You know this topic well. Tanis George Trullio founded and now runs The Cofounder’s Hub, a service designed to help founders identify their needs and find a co-founder who will work best for that situation. David Bloomberg of Bloomberg Capital was one of Trulio’s original investors and has invested in every round, including Trulio’s $394 million Series D.
I am excited to frame this discussion around internal partnerships. The importance of a co-founder is usually low. A good co-founder should offer additional skills – maybe you’re good at coding but need help with business management. Or maybe a good co-founder is someone who can help manage the emotional baggage that comes with starting a venture. And there’s no better accountability partner than the person who found the company.
David brings a unique perspective to the conversation. As a seasoned investor, he can speak to the VC’s perspective on having multiple founding partners in a startup. VCs often see companies with more co-founders as riskier and more likely to succeed. I also want to ask him about his role as a VC in helping promising entrepreneurs find a co-founder.
