We ask Sarah Rickard, fashion designer, personal shopper and founder of Sarah Rickard Styles, to review the DS 4 and share her top travel tips.
The DS 4’s proximity keyless entry is a godsend. I’m always loaded with bags when I get back to my car. DS 4 recognizes you from afar and opens for you. The car also turns on its lights automatically; this is amazing to me as I often park in the same parking lot several times a week and often forget where I park!
If DS 4 was an actor, it would be Jamie Dornan – strong, gorgeous, perfectly groomed, charming and just the right amount I don’t know what!
I drive all the time for work – Preparing for shoots, driving to and from locations and meeting with clients. For this, the DS 4’s spacious trunk and keyless entry are invaluable.
I often travel long distances to locations around the country for fashion shoots. These can be very long days; one feature I like about the DS 4 is the DS Matrix LED Vision projector headlights, which accurately sense your surroundings and adapt to it with five preset modes (city, countryside, highway, inclement weather and fog) so that to be able to use the main beam in all conditions, without ever dazzling other road users. It’s one less thing to think about on the drive home after a long day of filming.
My own rules? As a mother of two wild boys, the rules are no jumping out while the car is in motion!
When I pack my car for work I have a very strict system. My rail slides along the back seats, shoes and accessories in the back, steam bag and gear in front and bags hanging with clothes in the trunk.
The guilty secret in the handbag? Eilish’s is a McDonald’s and if she tells you otherwise she’s lying! Mine would be chocolate, but I can’t eat chocolate at room temperature, so I’d say an emergency pack of Tangfastics for me.
My beauty kit in the car includes hand cream (Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm) and perfume (Molecule 01 by Escentric Molecules) and chewing gum (which my boys steal).
I passed my driving test first time! Our dad was in the car business for 50 years (in fact he only closed shop at the start of Covid) but his biggest achievement was getting all four of his daughters to pass their driving tests first time.
My favorite thing about driving was playing albums from start to finish. I had a job during college, and the first two years I was assisting and traveling around the country, I listened to album after album. Now, you’re starting to listen to podcasts without interruption!
