Shine Vijayan, better known by his stage name Nalan Shine, was born in Kerala, Kollam, in 1977. He is an Indian chef. son of Vidhyadharan and Geetha Vijayan. He is an expert Chef. He was given the moniker “Nalan 

Shine” by the legendary Indian film Actor Mohan Lal.

 

A man with a deep-rooted passion to create magic with food, a never ending desire to share it with the world, and showed the courage to change his childhood passion into a successful full-time career at the age of 39 and proved to the world that it is never too late to chase one’s dreams.

 

A Keralite who is deeply in touch with his roots and a dedicated traveller who went out on a quest for finding sensational food across the globe, Chef Nalan’s soul searching journey contributed to his research of blending traditional Kerala dishes with international cuisines he enjoyed in different parts of the world, introducing mesmerising signature dishes.

 

A visionary who mastered the art of culinary skills by himself inspired by the early childhood memories of his mother’s kitchen and his unwavering fascination with food, Chef Nalan opened his dream restaurant Chef’s Stop – The Temple of Foody’s on a mission to inspire, educate and promote the importance of healthy eating

 

A devout worshipper of food who personally takes part in growing his own ingredients and veggies. A perfectionist

who makes sure to go through each and every process of preparing the ingredients before  it goes into the kitchen. Nothing misses Chef Nalan’s keen eyes. 

 

Always in for an adventure, Chef Nalan Shine whisked away the beautiful food truck featured in the Bollywood movie ‘Chef’ and took it for a spin to the Temple of Foody’s. It remains the crown jewel of Chef’s Stop Kadappakkada serving the most delicious, traditional, and authentic Kerala food. This historical piece of art travelled from the glitz and glam of Bollywood to the heart and soul of Kerala is a sight to behold.

 

Chef Nalan had a fabulous time participating in the show Panam Tharum padam aired in one of the most popular Malayalam TV Channels Mazhavil Manorama hosted by the iconic actor Sri. Jagdish. A show filled with fun and food left the viewers craving for the authentic, delicious traditional Kerala spicy dishes.
