MANSFIELD – Superintendent Teresa Murphy is pleased to announce that Mansfield Public Schools received a large donation from local businesses this week during back-to-school.

Superintendent Murphy and Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Mike Connolly accepted a large donation of educational materials from Emerson Automation Solutions located in the Cabot Industrial Park in Mansfield. The donation was made on Tuesday, August 30.

Emerson Human Resources Manager Anne Robertson and Human Resources Coordinator Melissa Jewett were on hand to present the donation.

Emerson collects items for the community several times throughout the year, and for the month of August they collected school supplies for students in Mansfield Public Schools.

As part of the drive, the bags are filled with markers, colored pencils, notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, scissors, glue and more. The items will go directly into the hands of Mansfield students and teachers for the start of the new school year.

Superintendent Murphy said, “We are very grateful to the local businesses that partner with us throughout the year, and we thank the Emerson staff for this tremendous donation.” “These offerings will have a direct impact on students and help them learn while easing the burden on families when we return to school.”
