Media Note: Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield to Travel to Chicago

Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, will travel to Chicago August 24 to 26 where she will highlight how U.S. priorities at the United Nations, including food security and humanitarian issues, connect to the lives and livelihoods of people in the Midwest.

Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield will visit an urban farm and participate in a public event hosted by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs where she will discuss how the United States is working with the international community and multilateral institutions to tackle food insecurity.

Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield will meet with leaders of refugee resettlement agencies to discuss the Biden Administration’s efforts to rebuild and expand refugee resettlement infrastructure and to hear from communities that have recently welcomed Afghans, Ukrainians, and refugees from around the world. She will also engage with students at Chicago State University considering careers in foreign policy and public service.

The program at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs will be livestreamed, and additional details are available at www.thechicagocouncil.org.
