Markm-Image recently launched the 5940 G Touch Dry™ high-resolution inkjet encoder from Pyrotech Pacmark. With growing industry demand for high-quality barcodes, branding and text on cans, this GS1-128 compliant coder does the job without incurring high label costs.
5940G Markem-Image’s proprietary Touch Dry inks dry instantly to the touch. This not only provides readability but also more reliable traceability. And, unlike liquid inks, touch-dry inks are ideal for secondary packaging because they don’t lose resolution by spreading over corrugated fibers. Available in a variety of colors, the inks are VOC-free, safe to handle and sustainable.
Applicable to a variety of materials, the 5940G prints highly scannable barcodes on cans and trays for fresh produce, beverages, meats and desserts, and more.
Markem-Image Senior Product Marketing Manager Greg Kasprzak said: “The 5940G system combines IntelliFlow™ printing technology with fast-setting touch-dry inks to deliver exceptional print quality on cartons and other challenging barcodes – all from 0°C to 40°C. At temperatures up to
Intelli’FlowTM printhead technology greatly reduces nozzle clogging and the filtration process ejects inks during printing to keep the jetting system clean and clear. The result: higher print quality, higher throughput, reduced maintenance and downtime.
The system supports increased throughput by enabling 67% faster warm-up times, and each unit features one to four print houses to support diverse and complex prints.
Boosting the print head is a specially designed ink cartridge that is 75% larger than many of its competitors. This helps reduce operator intervention by 43%. Ink containers can be replaced without interrupting production, and the 5940G allows easy access to internal components.
The 5940G uses Markem-Imagen’s ColOS intelligence software, which helps manufacturers centrally maintain a comprehensive database of print jobs. This simplifies publication management and supports high throughput. “The Markem-Image 5940G system is about delivering intelligence beyond data,” concludes Kasprzak.
