Identity management means making sure you have a driver’s license when you leave home, but it’s not that simple these days: identity is how we interact with the digital world, and identity services can take many forms (and unfortunately, abuse). I’m excited to host a TechCrunch Live event with Rick Song, Founder and CEO of Persona, one of the early movers in the space, to discuss how his company identified identity management as an opportunity.
This TechCrunch Live event will be held at Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 12:00 PM PDT. Sign up here for hoppin’ access where viewers can ask questions and connect with other participants.
Along with Rick, Mark Goldberg of Index Ventures is also speaking at the event. Mark made a classic move to identify and bring back Persona during a Series B fundraising round and re-backed the company for a $50 million Series C round.
Rick Song He co-founded Persona with Charles Yee in 2015, and according to Pitchbook, the company’s valuation is $1.5 billion in 2021 from Persona Series C. Since its inception, the company’s mission has remained the same: to provide users with an authentication system that protects and safeguards identity from theft and fraud. The company raised Series B after seeing a 10x jump in revenues and a 5x increase in users by 2021. In the year In late 2022, Persona introduced new services, including à la carte tools that expand beyond screening, a risk assessment engine, an identity workflow tool, link analysis and a graph database aimed at fraud detection, and a marketplace for external developers. To help connect their business tools to Persona account tools.
I hope you can join this TechCrunch Live event. Rick and Mark are set to provide actionable insights on how companies can better protect users and how founders, by building such services, can stand out from their competitors.
