PUMA Metaverse Exclusive NFTS New York Fashion Week

If you’re a shoe company and you’re not diving into the metaverse, then you’re already ten steps behind. Between Nike’s innovative partnership with RTFKT and adidas’ introduction of Prada, the space is quickly seeing growth in the space, and now PUMA is next. The German sportswear brand has just announced Black Station – its first website metaverse experience.

Launched during New York Fashion Week, the digital initiative features exclusive limited-edition physical sneaker NFTs as part of its ‘FUTROGRADE’ show. The comprehensive and interactive site allows consumers to immerse themselves in PUMA’s future and experience web3 activations throughout the year and beyond.

“Twenty years ago, Black Station was PUMA’s home for our most innovative fashion designs,” said Adam Petrick, PUMA’s Chief Brand Officer. “Given the boundaries we are pushing from a product design and digital perspective, we saw fit to bring back Black Station as a new portal for digital exploration.
across fashion, sports performance, our heritage classics and innovation.”

Beginning September 7th, the first two Black Station portals will reveal exclusive, never-before-seen Nitro NFRNO and Nitro Fastroid sneakers that tie into PUMA’s NFT NitroPass mint. Owners who have produced a Nitropass have access to a pair of NFTs – one linked to physical products and one that grants access to a personalized experience linked to their chosen shoe. Once the Futuregrade shoe is complete, miners will be allowed to earn their physical hits by burning NFT claimed by the product. “Our design team took a lot of liberties when envisioning these shoe styles. We told them the sky is the limit. As a result, we were able to harness their creativity without the limitations and restrictions typical of our shoe manufacturing process,” said Heiko Desens, Global Creative Director and Chief Innovation Officer. “What’s just as impressive as the actual designs is the fact that we were actually able to work with development to bring these amazing designs to life.”
