Despite the news of Queen Elizabeth II’s death just a week ago, (most of) the London Fashion Week shows did indeed go ahead. And as is our duty, we’re here to report on the standout shoes from the runways.
For spring 2023, many British designers turned to quirky and cute shoes. Kicking off fashion week was Knwls, who dressed her models in square-toed mules and fluffy Ugg boots. The design duo at Chopova Lowena went full avant-garde, with Mary Jane shoes embellished with rubber-like resin charms, fuzzy tinsel boots and heeled socks. At JW Anderson’s coveted runway show, models wore platform slides, sunset-print slips and denim boots.
Other memorable shoes showed up at 16Arlington (chunky mules) and Nancy Dojaka (warm-toned kitten sandals). Simone Rocha also unveiled a range of new platforms, some embellished with dazzling beads and shimmering metallics.
