The evenings of Bengaluru are always pleasant and lit up! Illuminating the prominent roads of Bangalore and most of the Fortune 500 companies based in Bangalore . Mr Karthik Tallam  is a fifth generation entrepreneur, who has been a pioneer in carrying forward the lightning business of the Tallam family. The Tallam family, with over 120 years of experience in Bangalore, has played an important role in the city’s economic growth. 

 

Mr Karthik Tallam completed his schooling from the prestigious Bishops’ Cotton Boys School , a premium institution, more than 150 years old.An ardent learner. He decided to take the family business and name forward and went on to pursue his graduation in Business Management from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College. The college provided him with the principles of managing an enterprise and strengthened his foundations for taking the family business forward.

 

Mr Tallam always had an inclination for interactions with other nations, understanding their policies and systems. This pushed him to earn a Post Graduate Diploma in International Service (DIS) from ETH, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Zurich. It provided him an opportunity to understand global politics and inter-country cooperation. He has represented India at a UN organized Student Exchange program. This program exposed him to the nuances of International policies and provided a multi-sectoral and multi-regional approach. Mr Karthik Tallam is Certified for “ Fit for Partnership with Germany by the Federal Ministry of Economic affairs and Energy. It shows the relationship and trust that Mr Tallam has developed with the Economic affairs of Germany. 

 

Mr Tallam has participated at the Davos Summit from the Karnataka pavilion showcasing the strengths and merits of Karnataka, especially Bangalore as a region having the brightest minds of India. He was privileged to meet the President of Switzerland Mr Kasis, he also had conversations with Sadguru and invited him to visit Cambodia. 

 

In his entrepreneurial journey, Mr Karthik Tallam has co-founded several companies like AURA,, Adithya Lamps, Ross & Rank Trade Pte Ltd, The Curtain Shop and Inhouse Products. AURA  is one of the premier lighting companies of South India which represents 40 Global Lighting brands,  providing lighting solutions to Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport, MNCs like Google and 5-star hotels like Hilton. Aditya Lamps has executed more than 75,000 Lighting projects over a span of 22 years.

 

Mr Tallam’s family was instrumental in founding the Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. One of the most active Chambers of the country, FKCCI has played a catalytic role in policy making at the State and Central level. The family has also played a vital role in establishing the Vysya Bank, which has received the Best Small Bank Award by Business World Magna Awards 2014 recognizing banking excellence.

 

In 2022, he was honored with the title of the Honorary Consul of Cambodia and has the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and the Union Territory of Puducherry within its jurisdiction by the President of India. Through this position, Mr Tallam and his Consulate office seeks to strengthen India’s relations with the Kingdom of Cambodia. He is one of the rare Honorary Consuls to be empowered with issuing visas for travelers from Indian states within his jurisdiction to Cambodia. 

He has also been conferred with the title of “ Vysya Rathna”.

 

Mr Karthik Tallam is also a member of several organizations including the Freemasons, where he has achieved the rank of Master masons. Freemasons are focused on building themselves as people of integrity, and membership provides the structure to help achieve that goal. He participated in meetings of Business Network International(BNI) through which he helps his fellow entrepreneurs to network with the right people and expand their businesses. Round table International regards Mr Kathik Tallam as an important member contributing to discussions of global importance.
