Tron has acquired caddy technology startup ClubUp to improve its golf club management offering

Sports entertainment and management firm Tron has acquired golf technology startup ClubUp, whose platform provides matchmaking and management services to players and caddies.

ClubUp was founded in 2016 and has more than 65 partner clubs using its technology, including Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and Los Angeles Country Club, as well as 8,000 independent contractors.

Its platform manages the placement, scheduling and payment of caddy services and feeds data from each round into partner club systems. This enhances the player experience and provides clubs with valuable information to improve their performance.

Tron, which operates 665 golf courses worldwide, said the acquisition was part of a broader digitization of its service portfolio and plans to incorporate ClubApp technology into its offering to partner clubs.
