Vermont Open Farm Week celebrates 8 years August 7-14

Vermont Business Magazine For the eighth consecutive year, farmers across Vermont will open their barn doors and garden gates to welcome the public to a behind-the-scenes look at Vermont’s working landscape. Vermont Open Farm Week 2022 runs Sunday, August 7 through Sunday, August 14 and features more than 105 events at more than 53 farms across the state. Events on DigiInVT.com are live and sorted by date and location.

Open Farm Week is a celebration of Vermont’s farms that gives visitors a backstage pass to learn about local food origins, authentic agritourism experiences and the opportunity to network with local farmers.

Farm visitors can look forward to maple and honey tastings, kids’ yoga on the farm, ice cream socials, behind-the-scenes tours, dinners on the farm, 5k runs, pie contests and more.

Each Open Farm Week event is created by a farmer and focuses on highlighting the unique character of the host farm.

“Open Farm Week is Vermont at its best. Visitors will get a real hands-on experience visiting and talking with farmers and producers,” said Vermont Secretary of Agriculture Anson Tebbetts. “These tours show how our food is grown and how farmers care for their animals and land. We are grateful to these businesses who open up their daily lives to hundreds of visitors during Open Farm Week.

Open Farm Week events are now live! Many events are free and some require pre-registration. Not all farms are open every day, so be sure to visit DigInVT.com to explore the various event schedules and plan a visit. Everyone is invited to join the Open Farm Week conversation on social media using the hashtag #VTOpenFarm.
