What are the best business hotels in Europe: London, Paris, Frankfurt

International travel can still have its challenges.

But finding a solid hotel for business travel is not one of them.

CNBC Travel and market information company Statista announced today “Best hotels for business travelers” rating in Europe.

This is the first of its kind between CNBC and Statista, which are releasing hotel rankings in the Middle East today. The Asia-Pacific rankings were published in September.

In total, we analyzed more than 10,000 four- and five-star hotels in 117 locations and compiled a list that corporate travelers can trust. We did this using a three-step process.

• Asking business travelers and hotel industry professionals to respond to a CNBC reader survey from May 3 to June 7, 2022.
• It evaluates over 1 million hotel data points to include objective information (location, business facilities, food, leisure activities and room features) and subjective reviews (collected from Google, TripAdvisor, Expedia and similar websites).
• Weighting the data to prioritize the hotel features deemed most important in the reader survey.

Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is tied with Rome’s Villa Spalletti Trivelli for the highest score for customer reviews among Europe’s largest financial centers. Travelers rave about the canal-side location, but they say the little things — turndown service, fresh tulips in the room, luxurious beds — make it one of Amsterdam’s best hotels.

In a city with extensive competition from major hotel brands, the privately owned Luiza Place – named after Queen Luiza of Prussia – topped our list. In the year Built around 1900, the boutique hotel in West Berlin has 47 spacious rooms, each with high ceilings and separate bedrooms.

Steigenberger Wheelchair’s location on the famous Avenue Louise – and its style, aptly described as “luxury simplicity” – make it a favorite among business travelers in Belgium. Travelers can tour the hotel online before visiting, virtually walking down the hallways to check out the restaurants and ballrooms.

Charlottehaven has hotel apartments in two areas – the larger rooms in the “Garden” and the newer apartments in the “Tower” with 180 degree views of the city. At 3.78 (out of 4 points), the five-star Merrion Hotel in central Dublin scored the second highest in Europe. Its 142 rooms and suites are housed in four 1760s Georgian townhouses. There is a two-star Michelin restaurant – Ireland’s first – plus two bars, a spa and six meeting spaces.

It’s rare for a small property to outperform major hospitality companies, but Gran Hotel Engels has done just that. “Pure luxury” as the 48-room hotel is described by travelers, from its intimate interiors to its cocktail weekend events accompanied by live music. Opened in 1886, the hotel is said to be Madrid’s oldest.

The website of Hotel Vieux Milan leads – not with the rooms or the restaurants – but with one word: happiness.
