5 Queer Celebs Who Walked New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week is all about looks, so it’s no surprise that many LGBTQ+ celebrities did just that at this year’s events.

Just weeks after Lil Nas X was named YSL Beauty’s newest ambassador, the Grammy-winning rapper made his runway debut for another iconic brand: Coach. Rocking a black leather vest with silver accents and coordinating shorts, he also sported long braids, a chrome manicure and a glittering gold clutch at Coach’s Spring/Summer ’23 fashion show on Sept. 12.

Coach also announced that it is collaborating with the Industry Rapper hitmaker on a custom tour wardrobe for his Long Live Montero World Tour. Looks include a crystal-encrusted pink soccer uniform, a gold gladiator suit, and even a Coach Signature sports western.

That same day, Venezuelan DJ and musician Arca was a surprise model at the luxury brand Proenza Schouler’s show. The trans artist led the final walk, which settled into “El Alma Que Te Trajo,” her reggaeton collaboration with fellow Venezuelan artist Luis Garban. Arca has previously worked on campaigns with Calvin Klein and Loewe, and also made an appearance in Bottega Veneta’s pre-fall 2021 lookbook.
