Contrary to popular belief, the decade wasn’t completely devoid of fashion moments (if you firmly block the perms and shell suits out of your mind), in fact, there were some incredibly stylish women back then who rocked some major outfits that we you are still very much nowadays.

Power dressing was all the rage in the 1980s and actress Joan Collins was the poster girl for it. Dynasty the clothing of the character Nolan Miller. Think buttoned-up shapes, killer jackets and stripped jackets that meant business.

The late Princess Diana is a fashion icon for more reasons than we can list, and her burgundy velvet dress with large shoulder pads is one such example. This piece has beautiful feminine lines and wouldn’t look at all out of place today in a collection from The Vampire’s Wife.
