Artis, a linebacker from Chesapeake, Virginia, recorded his only tackle at Old Dominion last week and is a key player on special teams as the special teams coordinator. Stu Holt. On Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, Artis will be honored for his second time wearing the number in Louisville.
“It’s a blessing to be able to wear No. 25,” Artis said moments after learning in a team meeting. “Being here for five years, I’ve gotten to see what the number 25 means to this program. I’m truly honored and can’t wait to wear 25 this Saturday against Boston College.”
Tech retired Frank Beamer’s No. 25 jersey in 2002, and since the 2016 season, the Hokies have been honoring Tech’s legacy on special teams by selecting a special teams athlete to wear the honorary Beamer 25 jersey each week. . For more information on who wore it before.
