Virginia Tech football’s 2023 schedule was officially announced Monday night by the ACC Network, and there’s plenty of buzz as Blacksburg heads into Year 2. Brent Pr Era

According to the recently signed top-five recruiting class in the ACC 247 sportsSeven new mid-year transfers have been added to the roster and six home games are expected at Lane Stadium, including Thursday night contests to name a few.

Tech’s home slate features five teams that played in a bowl game last fall, the 2022 Big Ten West division winner and a fan-favorite Thursday night showdown.

The Hokies will have three games at Lane Stadium in September, opening their season by playing host to Old Dominion (Sept. 2) and playing Purdue (Sept. 9) the following weekend. To close out the month, it hosts Tech Pit (September 30).


Wake Forest (Oct. 14) will be the first contest at the Lane in October, which will be followed by an open week and then the Hokies will face Syracuse on Thursday, Oct. 26. This marks Tech’s second consecutive season with a Thursday night game. in Blacksburg.


Tech’s final home game of the season comes against NC State (Nov. 18) which will be a senior day.

 

New season tickets are available starting at $350. You can choose the seat of your choice and enjoy various benefits at a higher price compared to the price of a single game ticket.

Current season ticket holders must renew their ticket and Hockey Scholarship Fund donation by March 1, 2023 to participate in the annual seat upgrade process this spring.

Playing on the road in back-to-back weeks in September, Tech faces Big Ten foe Rutgers (Sept. 16) and heads to Marshall (Sept. 23).

A trip to Tallahassee to face Florida State (Oct. 7) awaits the Hokies to kick off October. Then three of the final four games will be on the road, including Louisville (Nov. 4), Boston College (Nov. 11) and Virginia (Nov. 25).

Spring game

Late last week, Tech announced that the spring game presented by PMSI will take place on ACC Network Extra on Saturday, April 15 at 3 p.m. Sign up to be notified when more details about the game are finalized.
