The Mexican Caribbean offers travelers an amazing location with breathtaking beaches, perfect weather, and incredible pristine waters, and the best hotel chains know it. Hilton Hotels & Resorts will open another resort in the Quintana Roo state, the Waldorf Astoria Cancun, on November 1 and is already accepting reservations.
The new luxurious Waldorf Astoria Cancun is located 15 minutes away from Cancun International Airport, near a mangrove natural preserve, and right in front of the Mayan Coastline. The company promises to offer guests world-class amenities and services.
The luxury brand Waldorf Astoria provides guests an upscaled experience at top destinations in the World—like Rome, Maui, Cairo, and Atlanta— reflecting the history and heritage of the locations. The first Waldorf Astoria residence in Mexico is in Los Cabos, the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, currently offering travelers fascinating culinary experiences and unique service on the Mexican Pacific coast, and now the brand expands to the Mexican Caribbean.
The Waldorf Astoria Cancun has 173 rooms, a spa, restaurants and bars, event spaces —ideal for weddings and conferences— three outdoor pools, a fitness center, and a private beach area. Unlike the Hilton Cancun All-Inclusive Resort, this luxury resort will not be all-inclusive.
This will be the second Hilton Resort in Cancun and the fourth in the Mexican Caribbean. Hilton already has resorts in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum. The company has been taking advantage of the great potential of the beautiful Mayan Riviera and Cancun.
More About The New Waldorf Astoria Cancun
The new elegant Waldorf Astoria Cancun will allow guests to relax and enjoy outstanding amenities and services along the property’s 100 acres of Mayan Coastline.
From the 173 guest rooms and suites —rates start at $678—, customers will be able to choose from rooms with plunge pools on a private balcony, rooms with swim-up patios, or a presidential room with amazing ocean views, multiple balconies, living areas, vanity areas, and gourmet kitchen.
These are a few of the main amenities and services visitors can expect at the new location:

- Concierge services
- Fitness center and fitness classes with professional instructors
- Private beach with private cabanas and activities like volleyball and soccer.
- A spa with 8 indoor and 13 outdoor treatment rooms, a salon, a sauna, and Mexican healing treatments.

- Three outdoor pools
- On-site restaurants and bars like the Malpeque, an All Day Brasserie, and the beach bar and grill
- 100% smoke-free grounds
- 70,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space with professional event planners and catering services.

Those interested in learning more about the fascinating Waldorf Astoria Cancun can visit the official website. Travelers must bear in mind that this is not an all-inclusive resort and certain services will have to be paid for.
New Resorts Opening Soon In Cancun
The Waldorf Astoria Cancun is not the only resort opening in Cancun this year. Also on November 1, the luxury American hotel brand Wyndham will open the Wyndham Grand Cancun All Inclusive resort. This new property with 343 rooms and villas will include shopping malls, 10 restaurants bars, outdoor pools, Turkish baths and spa, exclusive entertainment, and golf courses.
In the same month, the Spanish hotel chain RIU Hotels & Resorts will open a new resort in Cancun. The Riu Palace Kukulkan hotel will be an all-inclusive adults-only resort and has over 400 guest rooms. Guests will get a welcome glass of sparkling wine as soon as they enter the property and among the main amenities and services the swim-up pool bar and the ‘Elite Club’ service really stand out.
By the end of the year, two other resort projects will open their doors. The Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun, an all-inclusive accommodation with 1,005 suites, and the Secrets Resorts & Spas, part of the AMR Collection, will open the Secrets Marina in Puerto Morelos, just 45 minutes from Cancun.
