Eagles host Wolf Pack on Thursday, travel to play Cougars on Sunday

Eastern Washington women’s soccer will match up against the Nevada Wolf Pack on Thursday, August 25th at 4 p.m. Pacific Time in Cheney. After Nevada, the Eagles will take a trip over to Pullman, Wash. to play Washington State University on August 28th at 1 p.m. It’s the eighth matchup between the two teams in program history.

Last Time Out:

The Eagle’s faced off with Oregon State University and Portland down in Oregon this past weekend. Against Oregon State, Eastern got its first tie in program history against a Pac-12 team, 1-1. This past Sunday, Eastern dropped its game against Portland, 0-6.

Insight on the Eagle’s:

Against Oregon St., Call us scored Eastern’s goal in the game with an assist by Maddie Morgan. Kakou earned the first goal of the season for the Eagles. Eastern averages six-and-a-half shots per game and has recorded four shots on goal. Kakou leads the team with four shots, while Madison Kem has the lead with two shots on goal. The team has 18 saves through two games.

Insight to the Wolf Pack:

In the last matchup for the Nevada Wolf Pack, they faced off against UC Riverside in Riverside California on August 18th, losing 2-3. In the match, Nevada had 11 total shots with a total 11 of fouls and two girls receiving yellow cards. The Wolf Pack scored first over Riverside but answered back right away with three goals. For the year, Nevada has three fifth-years, eight freshman and 14 other returners. That last time these two teams met was back in 2019 and the Eagles earned the win, 1-0 in overtime. Eastern Washington’s overall record against the Wolf Pack is 3-2-1.

Insight to the Cougars:

For the Washington State Cougars, their last matchup was in Ann Arbor, Michigan facing off against the University of Michigan Wolverines on August 28th. Pullman lost 1-2, having 17 shots and 17 total fouls, along with two players receiving yellow cards. For the year, WSU has seven freshman, five fifth-year seniors and 19 other returners. The Eagle’s last visit with Washington State was back in 2021, losing 0-4. They have an overall record against the Cougars of 0-7-0.

Eastern Washington will host the University of Denver at home on September 1st, at 4 p.m. Pacific Time. After their home game, the Eagles will be on the road, facing off against UNLV in Las Vegas on September 4th at 4 p.m.
