Ah, how about email Did you send my friend’s birthday invitation to my spam folder? Why do you make it so easy to archive email even though I don’t even know what it means? Why … now blue … Gmail?

Email is a necessary evil. So when I hear about startups looking to innovate on a decades-old communications technology, I’m excited to think of the myriad areas for improvement. Plus, talk about a big TAM!

Beginners take notes. Boomerang launched its email productivity software in 2010: Superhuman has raised $108 million since launching in 2014 to help users speed through their inboxes. Trying to build a better email mousetrap isn’t exactly a new concept, but it can be big business.

I recently received word from two new startups, both of whom launched their email innovations last year, that piqued my interest. Let’s meet them.
