You are listening to the Expresso Entertainment Update. Here is the latest news from the world of Bolywood brought to you by The Indian Express.
“We begin this bulletin with some unfortunate news,

Veteran actor Tabassum passed away recently. Best known for a handful of roles as a child artiste and her popular celebrity chat show as an adult, Tabassum began her career at the age of three and achieved further fame via her show Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan. Tributes began pouring in shortly after news of her demise spread.

Film director Madhur Bhandarkar tweeted, “Sad to hear the demise of Veteran Actress & Anchor Tabassum Ji. As a kid, we used to watch her famous show on @DDNational Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan. My heartfelt condolences to her Family Members & Admirers.”””
“Actor Kartik Aaryan is on a roll. After the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, his career witnessed a jaw-dropping boost. He announced Aashiqui 3. If reports are to be believed, he has also been roped in for Hera Pheri 3.

However, an official confirmation has not been made yet. On Sunday, Kartik attended the opening ceremony of the 53rd edition of the International Festival of India in Goa.

When asked if he’s a part of Hera Pheri 3, the Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety star did not reveal anything. He said, “Hera Pheri is my favourite film.”

However, recently veteran actor Paresh Rawal confirmed that Kartik Aaryan is a new addition to the cast of Hera Pheri 3.”
“The trailer for Govinda Naam Mera, starring Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles, is out. In the film, Vicky plays the role of Govind A Waghmare, a fun-loving man whose life is in a mess. He is drowning in debt and people are trying to take his house away from him. Moreover, his wife Gauri appears to be having an affair. Nevertheless, the good part is that he has a girlfriend, Suku played by Kiara, to take his mind off things. However, things soon take a turn for the worse when Vicky’s Govind becomes a suspect in a murder case.

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Govinda Mera Naam will stream on Disney Plus Hotstar from December 16.

“Vicky Kaushal is a relieved man as his much-loved on-screen sorrow has finally come to an end. The actor, who has largely played intense characters, credits his upcoming comedy thriller, Govinda Naam Mera, for allowing him to break free and not cry on screen.

Before Vicky tasted mainstream success with hits like Uri, Sanju and Raazi, the actor was known for his breakout role in the 2015 drama Masaan. The film’s dialogue “Why doesn’t this sorrow end?” has over the years become a pop culture talking point.

At the trailer launch of Govinda Naam Mera, Vicky Kaushal credited director Shashank Khaitan and producer Karan Johar for imagining him in a comedy thriller.”
“Meanwhile,

A good story gets Karan Johar excited, but the filmmaker laments he “rarely” gets an inventive script because most people come with a perception of what they think his banner Dharma Productions will greenlight.

At the trailer launch of his upcoming production Govinda Naam Mera, Johar said he is constantly asked if he is doing anything new as a filmmaker, despite a wide range of films from his banner.

He said, “Anything new rarely comes to me because everyone has a perception of what we make. No matter how much we have broken that myth with our films, every time we have made a different film, we have to scream from the rooftops that we have made a different film.”””
“Actor Kangana Ranaut on Sunday took to her Instagram stories and praised Tabu for ‘single-handedly’ saving Bollywood with her hit films – Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Drishyam 2. Tabu is ‘slaying’ in her 50s, according to Kangana, who also believes that women should be given more credit.

The Queen actor wrote, “Only two Hindi films have worked this year – Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Drishyam 2… and both films have superstar Tabu Ji in central roles, slaying in her 50s… single-handedly saving the Hindi film industry. Her talent and consistency have never been questioned but to look her best and reach the peak of her stardom in her fifties is commendable.””
“Last week, several senior actors came together to celebrate what they called the ‘Class of 80‘. A reunion party was thrown by Jackie Shroff and Poonam Dhillon where their contemporaries got together to share a memorable time. On Sunday, Anupam Kher took to Instagram to share a video from the bash, which sees the actors letting their hair down as they reconnected.

The video, a combination of photos and videos, shows Anupam Kher posing with Chiranjeevi, Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor. The next slide also gives a glimpse of Chiranjeevi, Anil and Madhu hitting the dancefloor to show off their moves.”
“We end this bulletin with news on actor Hrithik Roshan, who is in no mood to entertain misinformation. The superstar, who is dating actor Saba Azad, slammed a news report which claimed the couple is set to move in together soon.

Hrithik tweeted “There is no truth to this. As a public figure, I understand I’ll be under the lens of curiosity, but it’s best if we keep misinformation away, especially in our reportage, which is a responsible job.””
