Help for commercial clinics focuses on assets

Businesses looking for guidance on resources to improve their business can attend the upcoming Help for Business Clinics (ABC) sponsored by Job Service Kalispell, Job Service Polson and the Montana Department of Labor and Industry.

The clinic will be Tuesday, September 13 from 7:30 am to 5 pm at the Hampton Inn, 1140 US 2, Kalispell.

Help for Business Clinics provide new and established employers, accountants, bookkeepers, HR professionals and attorneys with the opportunity to meet with state workforce development professionals to learn about state and local resources available to businesses, including: Montana minimum wage, unemployment insurance, workers compensation ‘ Compensation law, using independent and construction contractors, overtime regulations, labor law posters, use of labor market information, Montana registered work experience and employment services Montana.

Clinics also provide continuing education credits to participants.

The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce will hold its Sept. 13 luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to noon at the Cedar Creek Lodge, 930 2nd Ave W, Columbia Falls. The Kalispell Chamber of Commerce is hosting its UNWIND event on September 13th from 5-6:30pm at the Clark Auto Group-Nissan and Hyundai after hours event. The networking event is free.

The Whitefish Chamber of Commerce will hold its Side Fish event hosted by Tamarack Cannabis, 5-7pm on September 15th, a free networking event at Kalispell 151 Business Center Loop, Ste.

The round table focuses on government contracts

The Montana Procurement Technical Assistance Center will host a roundtable discussion Thursday, Sept. 15, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., designed to help small businesses benefit from doing business with the federal government and large federal contractors. Representatives from Northrop Grumman Corporation, Honeywell and 4M Research will represent large federal contractors and small businesses with Northrop or subcontractors. He will be joined by Jayce Blood, Director of Business Operations/Small Business Specialist at Malmstrom Air Force Base.
