Grab A Round Tip Ticket For One of These World-Class Destinations
Travel prices are rough this year. There’s no getting around it. A combination of high demand, soaring energy costs, and pandemic-era staff and supply chain shortages have seen prices in every sector of the industry skyrocket.
But there is hope on the horizon, and things are slowly starting to taper off a little. Luckily, some of the biggest destinations in the world are seeing some of the biggest price drops. So if you’re thinking about planning a getaway this Fall, these could be some of the best options.
Seattle
The urban gem of the Pacific Northwest has seen average ticket prices for a round trip drop by a whopping 45% this fall. That doesn’t mean they’re going to be rock bottom, especially considering the year we’ve had, but it does mean that it’s looking like the best price we’ll get this year.
Highlights in Seattle include the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, Liberty Square, and of course, the amazing hiking opportunities of the Pacific Northwest.
The Angels
LA has also seen huge drops, with the average ticket price falling by about 35%. As one of the biggest destinations in the States, utilizing the shoulder season between summer and the October break might let you know enjoy this wonderful city with a little fewer crowds.
The weather is always great there, so you don’t have to worry too much about missing the summer.
Portland
Portland, Oregon also had its average ticket prices slashed by 35% this Fall. This hip city is packed with quirky personality, independent businesses, and some of the best restaurants in the country.
A visit here should be planned around one of its over a hundred festivals, ranging from standard food and drink celebrations to more absurd and niche gatherings. The weirder the better, we say!
Barcelona
Hopping across the Atlantic, the Catalonian capital is enjoying a 30$ price drop for roundtrips, meaning paella is firmly on the menu this season. One of Europe’s great cities, visitors can enjoy seeing the massive influence artist Gaudi left on the metropolis in the form of his stunning buildings like the iconic La Cathedral de Sagrada Familia.
When you’re finished up with the cultural side of things, food, drink, and some of the best nightlife in the world awaits. Don’t miss out on a Barcelona FC football game.
San Francisco
One of the best cities in the world but also one of the US’ more expensive. Travelers can help soften the financial blow of a San Fran trip by booking while tickets are about 25% cheaper than normal. It’ll leave you with a good chunk extra to spend on some of the best Asian food in the States.
Of course, you can’t miss a visit to Alcatraz or the iconic Golden Gate bridge. Hop on the cable car to explore its slopey splendor at a leisurely pace, and don’t forget to try some sourdough.
London
The Old Smoke has round trips currently running for around 25% less than normal, great news for those partial to adventures in the United Kingdom. London is a powerful connecting city too, so it might be worth checking out rates in and out the city if your final destination is further afoot.
Naturally, if you’re staying in the British capital, you’ll be treated to a number of world class attractions like the Tower of London, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, and Big Ben.
San Diego
Another top Californian destination is also seeing its round trip costs getting more affordable as San Diego’s dropped 20% of its round trip prices, marking considerable savings compared to earlier in the year.
The ever-popular city’s perfect weather, laid back attitude, and wealth of attractions make it an excellent choice as the days turn a little colder. Grab a surfboard and you’ll be enjoying summer again in no time.
Chicago
If heat isn’t your thing, head north to the windy city. As fall rolls in, you can enjoy a cooler climate paired with one of the US’ best urban sprawls. With tickets to Chicago dropping by 20%, similar to San Diego, there’s no better time to jump on a flight to Chi-town
The city is packed to the brim with attractions, phenomenal restaurants, and some of the best bars in the world and that 20% is freeing up a little bit of money to splash on those instead.
Rome
Need a big romantic gesture? It doesn’t get any bigger than Rome (with the exception of Paris, maybe). Flights to the Italian capital are dropping around 15%, which is just enough to prompt that trip you’ve been teetering on the edge of buying.
Endless historic sites, the best pasta in the world, and big ticket draws like the Vatican and the Coloseeum are waiting if that price drop is enough to get you on a plane.
Paris
If Rome just won’t cut it, Paris is the only option. Luckily, the most romantic city on the planet is also seeing its flight costs cut by 15%, which is great news for such an expensive city. With hotel prices and other activities rarely on the cheaper end of the scale, knocking a good chunk off of the biggest cost goes a long way.
The Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysee, Louvre, Notre Dame, Montmartre, the Sacre Coeur, and the Moulin Rouge are just a few headliners in one of the world’s most visited cities.
Cancun
A classic beach getaway can’t be beaten sometimes, and where else does it better than Cancun. There are already some excellent deals to be had in its world-class hotels, and flights are one of the more affordable on this lost already thanks to the sheer volume of flights heading there. But there’s also a 10% drop in those costs, so a quick getaway to the Mexican Caribbean is very much on the cards.
Whether you’re fancying Tulum, Playa del Carmen, or Cancun itself, the Cancun Airport is where you’d be heading. You can also look forward to its new automatic 180-day stay on arrival, although you might be booking a one-way flight for a stay that long.
