Los Sombreros restaurant in Mesa, the ruler of visitors
Mesa, Arizona – Gov. Doug Ducey highlighted Arizona’s economic success at a restaurant in Mesa today, followed by a wide-ranging conversation with Phoenix East Valley business leaders.
“Over the past eight years, we have taken action to ensure that small businesses like Los Sombreros can continue to thrive,” said Governor Ducey. “And it’s working. It’s no secret that Arizona’s economy is booming.”
The governor visited a local restaurant with Kurt Riske and Tim Madden, who worked with the staff to the owners.
Riske said he is excited about where his business is headed thanks to Governor Ducey’s pro-business policies over the past eight years. “We are very pleased with what he has done in the last eight years and especially with the outbreak. We’re fortunate to be one of the few states that have basically been able to continue operating — and that was huge for us.
Los Sombreros is one of the many small businesses that help grow Arizona’s economy and create jobs.
This booming economy opened Arizona’s historic 2.5 percent flat tax package a year ahead of schedule — protecting small businesses from a 77 percent tax increase.
The flat tax was a primary topic of discussion among East Valley business owners around the table following the restaurant tour.
Mesa Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Sally Harrison thanked Governor Ducey for his leadership and said, “It continues to bring business, big and small, to Mesa. [Arizona Commerce Authority] It was very important for the businesses that chose Mesa.
Harrison with representatives from the East Valley Chamber of Commerce and members of the East Valley Chambers, including Apache Junction; Careless and Cave Creek, GilbertQueen Creek, Scottsdale and Tempe chambers at the roundtable.
